Massage: Calf Pain Release

Pain in your Calves (back of your legs) or your feet? Watch this.

This exercise is categorized as a muscle knot release.

Here’s what muscles are involved in this movement:

  • Gastrocnemius (Calf Muscles)
  • Soleus (Underneath the Calf Muscle)
  • Tibialis Posterior

This exercise doesn’t require any equipment – all you need is your body!

The goal of this movement is to release the muscle knot in the muscle known as the Tibialis Posterior, which can cause pain to radiate down to the Achilles tendon and into the bottom of the foot.

If you have  pain in your  calves or your feet – you need to try this out!

The Tibialis Posterior is a smaller, but quite important muscle in your leg & foot.

Sometimes, muscle knots can form in this muscle, leading to some painful walking and standing!

Try releasing this muscle knot on your own, by digging in (a comfortable amount) into where a muscle knot commonly forms – deep within your calf muscle.

The pain may be alarming at first, but it should quickly diffuse within a minute at the most.

Try walking around afterwards, stretching and just generally moving up and about.

It should feel much better by this point!
